Architectural Digest Home Show, Etc.

Hello, hello! Yes, I'm still here! I had such a fun last few days. The weather where I live had been just amazing. It has now turned back to the normal cold temps of March, but we definitely took advantage of it. Two weekends ago, I packed up my picnic basket and the huz and I went to the lake for lunch. It was magical:

I got to wear heels without socks! Paired with a mint chambray shirt, I was oh so excited:

Thursday, we went to the Architectural Digest Home Show in NYC. I especially loved the Diffa's Dining by Design event being held at Pier 94 as well. GORGEOUS tablescapes had me needing some serious ritalin.

This was my favorite. Love the sea life inspired look without being too literal.

We also got a chance to roam around the city, mainly for eating and shopping purposes:

My NYC outfit. Did I mention I'm obsessed with peplum tops?
That's all for my million and one pics! I have a giveaway coming soon, so check back! I also threw a swanky crepe soiree at my house over the weekend. Can't wait to share it!

All Gray

Just a quick post! I'm really loving monochromatic color schemes lately, evidenced by my all gray outfit today. Please excuse the bad pics, I only had my iPhone handy!

Who knew all gray could look so chic in a bedroom??

It's Friday!!

Isn't it the best feeling when your alarm clock goes off (wait for it...) and after you curse that friggin tune that comes from your iPhone, you realize, IT'S FRIDAY!! I'm super excited for this weekend. We have NO plans for tomorrow. What a miraculous concept. A full day on the weekend where you do whatever it is you desire. Well, ok I actually do have plans for tomorrow. It involves all the fun that didn't happen on my birthday last week since we worked and worked and worked some more.

I also seriously need to clean up my closet. Clothes EVERYWHERE! It's so frustrating trying to get dressed in the morning. I read this great idea where you takes the clothes you still like, but haven't worn in awhile, and pack them away somewhere. Then the next time the season rolls around, you bust them out and it's like you went shopping!! Totally doing that for Spring. Plus the MASSIVE spider that was parked right outside my closet door this morning totally had plans to snuggle up inside the pile of clothes on the floor. Needless to say, we put the squelch on those plans...(and thank you husband for using my J.Crew pump to do it)

And here's my outfit today! I cannot take the credit though. I saw the ever stylish Michelle Willams in People Stylewatch's April's issue:

Her look is comprised of a Tibi jacket, Stella McCartney top and Current/Elliot pants with a Louis Vuitton bag. Mine is an Express jacket, H&M top, Target jeans, Target booties, and a Michael Kors outlet bag. Take that Michelle's stylist...you totally made her spend more than she had to.

And what would Fashionable Interiors be (btw what do you think of the new look?? Little Blue Deer did a great job helping me achieve what I was looking for) without a room to match:

Kelly Wearstler's Shop

FINALLY Lonny has made a new issue. I was gettin' a little worried there for a minute. Kelly Wearstler is one of my favorite designers to look up to. Yes, she started out in Playboy and I'm thinking that's probs not where I'd like to follow in her footsteps (plus I think Playboy prefers curvaceous women of which I am not in the slightest unless you count after I eat a large breakfast), but I do love how she's managed to make a name for herself outside of interior design. Although her quirkiness in design and fashion is a little more than I'd go for, what you can take away from her aesthetic is bits and pieces of her bold style. Anyway, getting back to Lonny, her new store in LA was featured, and it's gorgeous.

Now that is a fashionable interior...

Here's what Style.com had to say about her fashion collection:
Kelly Wearstler has a new book coming out this summer featuring seven recent interiors projects. But at a presentation of her Fall ready-to-wear line, she admitted that she's scaled back her decorating work somewhat. Fashion, as any designer will tell you, is a full-time job.

Wearstler's collection just turned one, so it's no surprise that she is still defining her niche. Prints, colors, and textures have counted for a lot since the beginning, but the sweet sensibility that characterized her debut a year ago has for the most part been replaced by eccentricity, edginess, and more than a twinge of nostalgia for the eighties. Wearstler launched denim this season, but you won't find basic blue jeans at her Melrose Avenue shop. Instead, think acid wash in six different colors. Knits are new for Fall, too, and, again, the same rule applies. There were yarn-fringed shoulders and a blue and black pattern inspired by a vintage tapestry she owns. Even an otherwise plain cashmere V-neck came in searing yellow.
In a savvy bit of timing with the upcoming Costume Institute show dedicated in part to Elsa Schiaparelli, Wearstler inserted some surreal motifs into the lineup. A burnout sweatshirt in an abstracted lip pattern might've been the simplest, easiest thing about the collection. It was also the best.

I can't say I'm crazy about her Fall collection, but I love her accessories. How amazing are these clutches!

And her scarves:

Someday, I'll get to the restaurant she designed for Bergdorf in NYC:

But for now, I'll drool over her interiors from the pages of her books...

Craziness I Say

I don't even know how last week went by. Is it seriously March 12th?? Since I haven't had an opportunity to craft any high end posts, here's the Instagram/iPhone pics version of my life lately:

Our home show was a success! This is the side I designed for my husband's home building company:

And here's my side! I was really happy with the outcome:

Also SUPER exciting that the weather has been as perfecto as could be. Finally busted out the Valentinos!

And with all the nice weather, rose had to make a sighting. (p.s. I give up trying to make the little ' mark over the e):

I'm trying to read as much of this as I can every night, but seriously, this is the only book where I've actually laughed out loud:

My little pom, Luigi, accompanying me on all my errands last week:

I finally wore my Missoni for Target tights:

And it was my birthday! My hubs is so cute. He snuck in our office and set this up for me:

Alright, back to work. I have so much to catch up on this week, but I hope to get some outfit/interior posts up! Have a great week! P.S. I totally wore white jeans today since it was 65 degrees..Screw you Memorial Day...
